Oxfordshire resident to run his 8th and final London Marathon in aid of Africa Now

Completing one London Marathon is a great achievement for most, but after almost a quarter of a century of taking part in marathons, this year, David Basham took part in his eighth and final marathon at the London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April 2007. basham

David Basham, 61, ran his first marathon in Banbury back in 1983 and 24 years and 15 marathons later, ended his long distance running career on a high by taking part in this years London Marathon.

"I wanted to run in aid Africa Now because it's a cause I really believe in", said David. "Sustainable, long term projects in rural areas, such as the ones Africa Now operates in really make a difference to the lives of many individuals and families in Africa."

David completed his final marathon in under 4 hours 15 minutes and raised over £1000 for Africa Now!
